Diy Leather Handle Box - Pinterest Challenge: Week 6

Whoa. I can't believe this is my last project for the Pinterest Challenge, where have the past six weeks gone? Craziness. I think this is my favorite diy I've done for the Pinterest Challenge & of course I kept it for last because I wanted the challenge to go out with a bang!

I've had this diy leather handle box pinned for awhile on my diy love board. I'm so glad I finally got around to doing it because it's awesome & I love it. Plus it was super easy, which is even more awesome. Basically everything about this project is pretty awesome.

I scored this light wooden box at Target for two bucks, a total steal, right? I put painters tape around the box, I made sure it was even because I wanted a perfect straight line across the whole box. After putting the painters tape on, I put newspaper over the area I didn't want white & taped it down to make sure the white wouldn't seep through. I then spray painted the visible area white with Rustoleums satin white. After it dried I cut two pieces of a thin leather strip I purchased at Hobby Lobby. It doesn't matter how long they are, just whatever floats your boat. I then used upholstery nails & nailed them & the leather strap to the side of the box. Again, there's no specific measurement. I then added some faux succulents I got at Hobby Lobby & that's it. Super easy right?! What do you think of the box? Have you made anything similar?
